Screamfest is right around the corner, and we hope everyone is getting ready for the party of the year!
We are going into our 4th year of Screamfest, and this year looks to be the biggest show we have ever had. This year has been the hardest show to put together, and our big move to Orlando has made it an even bigger challenge, but I think you will all be pleased as our line up is better than ever!
Since the show lands on Friday the 13th this year, we figured we would put together a gathering of cast members from the series. Including the First Jason - Ari Lehman, Adrienne King, Amy Steel, Kevin Blair Spirtas, Lar Park Lincoln, and the First Jason to Wear the Mask - Richard Brooker. To celebrate this gathering, we have planned an all star cast panel to be held on Friday the 13th at 8:00pm with all of these guests. You don't want to miss out. We will also have a limited edition Friday the 13th T Shirt and poster, only available for sale on Friday.
Since Corey Feldman had such a great response last year, we decided to bring in the vampires of The Lost Boys - Brooke McCarter, Billy Wirth, and Chance Michael Corbitt.
Some other celebrities attending are Edward Furlong (Terminator 2, and Pet Semetary 2), James Duval (Donnie Darko), Patricia Quinn (Rocky Horror Picture Show), Roddy Piper (They Live), Tony Todd (Candyman), PJ Soles and George Wilbur (Halloween), Lisa Wilcox and Jennifer Rubin (Nightmare on Elm Street), and Ken Foree (Dawn of the Dead). We have also included some of the old favorites Ricou Browning (Creature from the Black Lagoon), Bill Hinzman (Night of the Living Dead), Linnea Quigley (Return of the Living Dead), and Lisa Loring (Addams Family). There will even be a Munchkin - Meinhardt Raabe (Coroner Munchkin from the Wizard of Oz).
We will have some of the best special FX people attending this years show - Tom Savini, The Chiodo Brothers (Killer Klowns from Outer Space), and of course Barry Anderson (Day of the Dead).
Don't forget what makes our show so unique - our musical guests and live performances. This year our lineup includes live performances by Voltaire, Gargamel!, The Green Goblyn Project, The Van Orsdels, Killer Robots, Freak 13 and Straight Line Stitch. Of course we couldn't forget our favorite GoGo - Jane Wiedlin, who will be signing autographs all weekend.
There will also be a live performance by burlesque troupe Thee Vaudevillains.
We have some of the best artists in the industry appearing at Screamfest - Basil Gogos, Gris Grimly, Dave Cook, Christine Kerrick, Tom Straub, and many more.
Robert Massetti and Fear Films will be hosting our film festival - Freak Show Film Festival - with some of the best up and coming filmmakers. There will be an awards ceremony at the end of the weekend, and Lloyd Kaufman will be presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Stay up late Saturday night, as we will be featuring the Rocky Horror Picture Show with guest host Patricia Quinn and a live all star shadow cast with members from all over Florida.
If you like gaming, XTreme Play will be hosting the Game Crypt featuring Halo 2, Mortal Kombat:Armageddon, and Guitar Hero.
Don't forget we have one of the best dealer rooms, with vendors from all over the United States.
To end the weekend, we will have a costume contest sponsored by Ravens Loches Entertainment, and hosted by J.C. Halliwell "Elvira" impersonator. Be sure to bring your best costume and register to take part in the contest. There will be prizes.
Tickets are available on our website, and will also be available at the door. Get a full weekend pass for $30! One day passes are $25 - but why would you come for just one day when there is so much to see and do throughout the weekend.
The Wyndham Orlando Resort has opened up another block of rooms for us with the special room rate of $119/night. But you must mention Screamfest when making your reservations. Call 1-800-421-8001 to reserve your rooms.
The Wyndham has also allowed the pool area to be open 24 hours, so we want to see some pool parties!
Well that's it for me - as you can see we have been very busy planning this year, there is a lot going on! Hope to see you all there, there are no excuses! Have a very scary weekend!
